(Alternative News Headlines) -- Palestinian Authority (PA) officials have said Israel plans to raze a number of Palestinian houses in a village near the northern West Bank city of Nablus.
Israel's Civil Administration distributed nine demolition warrants to home-owners in Yatma village south of Nablus City on Tuesday, Ma'an news agency quoted Ghassan Doughlas, the PA official in charge of settlements in the northern West Bank, as saying.
Doughlas said the warrants were handed down to residents with their homes located at the entrance of the village, which is surrounded by three illegal settlements and outposts, including Rechalim, Eli, and Kfar Tappuah.
The village of Yatma is considered as a mixture of area A, which is under full Palestinian civil and security control and area B, which is under full Palestinian civil control but joint Israeli security control.
The village's environs, however, fall within area C which is under full Israeli security, planning and construction control.
A recent report by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs shows an increase in Israel's Civil Administration's orders against Palestinian-owned buildings in area C in the West Bank, with a total of 41 structures affected by the warrants.
